Don't want to encourage too many people to go to Pula as its my secret favourite place in Europe.
Went for my fifth visit this year, hired a car an went all over istria and the last few days in Zadar on the dalmatian coast.
Its a fantastic place, well worth a visit. If anybody wants any tips or advice, just let me know.
I can't advise on nightclubs or strip joints as I'm not into that sort of thing, but I don't think they really are a thing up there.

In Dubai was out on an all dayer for a friend’s birthday, coming out of a hotel the dozy bird I was with asks this bloke to take a picture of our group, she didn’t know it was Dennis Irwin!, nice bloke, had a quick chat and he took the picture

Frankie Mac, Dicksy, Trevor, Galey and the wonderful Ken Brown Senior at various unofficial functions and they were all good people. Used to play pool at the ex Brighton and Ireland player Gerry Ryan's pub in Sussex and he was a good bloke. Had a horrendous few years with illness but thankfully he recovered although sold the pub when he was unwell.

I once bumped into Steve stone and Steve Watson and their respective families at Disney Animal Kingdom when they were playing for Villa (late 90’s, early 00’s.)
My son and I shouted out ‘Come on you Irons’, towards them and they both looked at us and smiled.

Just remembered, met Yossi Bennayoun in Bluewater a few days after his first game with us. Approachable, but shy and very humble.

Staying just outside in Stinjan, famous for the old fort which they hold massive raves in Summer. Been here just over a week, place is so beautiful, literally just one long coastline, with loads of coves / beaches etc. Beaches are either gravel or rocks, not much sand about. A lot of big abandoned military buildings about, which are interesting if you like exploring that shit (although nearly went through the ceiling of one today)
Off season, so place is very quite, only a handful of tourists and a lot of stuff shut. VERY cheap for everything apart from meat in the supermarkets. Beer is super cheap. Area / people seem wealthier than I expected. Overall loving it. I dont have a car here, so doing a lot of walking and it is fucking hilly. So seen a lot of the countryside, always finding shit to explore.
Pula itself is a lovely place, the arena is impressive, food and drink excellent so far. Cant comment on nightlife, only been in during the week and very quite.

Used to work in Knightsbridge, was crossing a pedestrian crossing one lunchtime by myself when cars started beeping and the drivers started shouting Chelsea.
Looked to my right and Jose Mourinho was standing next to me! He went into one of the boutiques.

I had a brief chat with Bert Millichip once , I was very drunk , it was an evening prior to an Romania England game . In a hotel . That very morning though I caught him on the back of the head with a croissant from about twenty yards .

Joe Cole in Camden high st 2000 ish.My MATE ran across three lanes of traffic to talk to him. Seemed quite small and shy.
FLJ in the nightingale pub late 90’s when he had just got into the first team.
Ray Parlour in Stop Outs ILFORD, my then gf was a Gooner and a bit of fawning went on. He just looked bored.

Chatted with Geoff Pike on one of those small prop planes on a flight to Guernsey
When I flew to Luxembourg from city airport the West Ham team were in the terminal waiting for a flight to Holland

I was in Norway once and was buying a sandwich one morning and met a Scottish lad who plays for Scotland U-16's and Stenhousemuir, but was on loan at FC Oslo. never forgot that.

Played in a celebrity golf day with Alan Smith (ex Arsenal), lovely bloke.
Also met Ray Wilkins, Frank McLintock and Luther Blissett on the same day, all decent, except Ray, who was exceptionally nice.
